SCA Sisters are Recognized for Viral Meme

It is no secret that Sister Johnellen and Sister Joann are long-time and lifelong Los Angeles Dodgers fans. During the Boys in Blue's playoff run and push for their 8th World Series Championship, Johnellen and Joann made headlines when they were identified as the nuns in a very viral meme.

In 2018, Sister Johnellen and Sister Joann were attending a World Series game at Dodger Stadium, courtesy of their good friend, the late, great, Dodgers legend, manager and champion Tommy Lasorda. During the game, they witnessed a tough play at home when Third baseman Justin Turner was called out. Sister Johnellen clutched her rosary and looked to the heavens as Sister Joann slumped over the railing in front of her in disbelief. SportNet LA caught the moment, and the image made its way to the internet. Needless to say, the rest if history. 

You can see the viral meme every year during a Dodgers slump, or when they are making a playoff push. The meme has been recognized as the "Rally Nuns" and Dodgers fans online use it to send a prayer to get some help to the team.
