A Home Away From Home for Young Boys Becoming Young Men
At St. Catherine’s Academy, our residential life program is thoughtfully designed for boys in grades 4–8, offering a safe, structured, and nurturing environment as they take their first steps toward independence.
Living on campus isn’t just about supervision — it’s about building a community. Our students reside in one of four spacious dormitories, each home to 15–20 boys and a dedicated resident care provider who offers round-the-clock guidance, encouragement, and a comforting parental presence.
From preparing their uniforms and keeping their spaces tidy to learning the value of responsibility and teamwork, our cadets grow in confidence and character each day. Outside of structured routines, there’s plenty of time for boys to just be boys — playing games, watching movies, sharing laughs, and forming lifelong friendships.
Whether they’re here for five days a week or as full-time residents, our boarding students find more than a place to stay — they find a second family, strong mentors, and experiences that shape who they become.
A One-of-a-Kind Boarding Experience for Boys in Grades 4–8
As the only boarding school in California serving boys in grades 4–8, St. Catherine’s Academy offers a truly unique experience tailored to the needs of younger residents. We understand that for many boys, this is their first time living away from home — and that’s why our program is built around compassionate support, thoughtful structure, and age-appropriate independence.
Our junior boarding program helps young men develop confidence, responsibility, and resilience in a caring environment designed just for them. With 24-hour supervision, daily study halls, and a wide range of organized activities, our students are never without guidance — or the opportunity to grow.
Whether they're learning to manage their time, form meaningful friendships, or simply feel at home in a new setting, boys at St. Catherine’s experience more than a school — they discover a place where they can become their best selves, one day at a time.
