Military Activities & Programs
SCA's military tradition offers a variety of activities and special programs designed to develop leadership qualities, self-confidence, and self-discipline.
Daily Military Time
Students in 3rd - 8th grade participate in afternoon instruction directed by the military department. This is in addition to the regular school day and takes place from 3:00 – 3:30 four days per week.

Military instruction activities include:
- Flag salute
- Classroom seminars in leadership
- Practical leadership exercises
- Company games and group competitions
- Obstacle course
- Basic drill instruction
- Cadet handbook training
- First aid
- Land navigation
- Survival swimming
Special Programs
Cadets also participate in special programs through the military department. These activities allow students to become more involved in the community while further promoting self-discipline and teamwork.
Special military department programs include:
- Christmas, Easter, and June Drill
- Community parades
- Color guard
- Honor guard
- Competitive drill team
- Marching band
